HOW DEDICATED FIBRE IMPROVES NETWORK PERFORMANCE AND DISASTER RECOVERY

Case study – Eden Brown

The Business Problem

Eden Brown is a leading recruitment and training consultancy that has grown rapidly – doubling turnover to £300m and outgrowing its Bishopsgate HQ in London to establish a satellite office a mile away in Paul Street.

They needed a reliable, secure high-speed network solution to connect the two sites – one that could easily expand to support the company’s future and one that would be the best overall value for money. They also needed a high speed link to host a disaster recovery solution.

Finally, because instant access to client and candidate data is such an essential part of their business they couldn’t risk a network that might be liable to disruption and down-time.

Our Solution

After considering a number of options and impressed by the value for money and reliability promised by our dedicated dark fibre, Eden Brown chose Geo to deliver their project.

We offered the most cost-effective, fastest data connectivity between the two sites and the highest possible level of physical security. And most importantly our solution gave them the flexibility to upgrade bandwidth to support their future business growth.

Because we offered connectivity through fibre running several metres deep underground in the city’s sewers the network was more secure and less vulnerable to damage than others that lie just beneath the surface of the city’s road system.

As it happens Eden Brown’s office in Paul Street will soon be moving to another site and it will be relatively easy and low cost for us go back underground to re-route the network to their new office.

The Benefits

“Geo provided a cost-effective network solution, but we also benefit from improved security and reliability – two qualities that are imperative in our industry. We have plans to grow our business and wanted a network that would grow with us.” Cham Bain Smith, IT Manager, Eden Brown
Geo delivered the project on time and within budget and the company gained a wealth of benefits including:

  • High Speed datalink between site
  • Capacity to provide back-office support for other group companies
  • Ability to easily increase bandwidth and grow with the company
  • Improved reliability and security Instant back-up for disaster recovery and home working.

Cham Bain Smith,

IT Manager,

Eden Brown:

"The link between the sites is instant. It's as if the other site is on the same site, and since its installation, there's been no downtime at all. Now we can give other HBHC companies back-office support. They can piggy-back our server because there's an almost infinite amount of bandwidth"
