Geo’s fibre network of over 2500km reaches across the UK from London to Edinburgh to Glasgow.

We have already deployed some of the UK’s most advanced optical fibre networks. Now we’re helping regional development authorities plan and roll out major projects across the UK.

We’ve worked on pioneering projects in the public sector bringing next generation communications networks to cities and rural communities. As more and more regions look to attract investment to spur regeneration and employment programmes, having a shared infrastructure is key. Broadband is fast becoming the fourth utility. As much as goods are transported along roads and high-ways, data is travelling along broadband…and usage levels are at an all time high.

Our work in the public sector includes projects with universities, and both central and local government.

Please download our case study to the right on FibreSpeed – a partnership between Geo and the Welsh Assembly Government which demonstrates how next generation access is already being used by the public sector to drive investment and regeneration or click on any of the related links to read more about our public sector work.

As part of our continuing work with the public sector in Scotland and elsewhere in the UK, Geo spoke at the INCA Next Generation Roadshow in Edinburgh on Wednesday September 8th 2010.

Our session

Our session looked at the key steps in making a success of next generation networks. If you’d like to receive a copy of our slides from the event, please contact us.
We’d be delighted to discuss how we could help your organisation.
