Geo, a leading provider of dedicated fibre networks, today announced the signing of a 10 year contract worth £845,000 with premier carrier-neutral data centre, BlueSquare, to provide them with a dedicated fibre connection from their Maidenhead site to a new data centre in Buckinghamshire.

Geo will provide 116km of dedicated fibre from BlueSquare’s existing Maidenhead data centre to a brand new tier IV, next generation data centre. The new data centre has an excellent strategic location outside of the M25 offering ample power and 25,000 square feet of space at affordable prices at a time where the availability of these sought after facilities is dwindling in central London.

“We selected Geo because of their unique route which allowed us to bypass London, thus reducing costs and distances to our new data centre. Their dedicated fibre will also allow us to seamlessly extend our high quality service, including full racks, secure cages, private suites, serviced office space and technical remote-hands to our Buckinghamshire site.” said Matthew Munsen, Technical Director at BlueSquare.

Chris Smedley, Chief Executive, Geo added “Geo is pleased to assist BlueSquare in providing businesses with an alternative to London data centres, which will allow companies to route their low latency critical applications out of inner London saving them time and money.”
