Geo, a leading provider of dedicated fibre networks, and NWIX, a UK provider of bespoke Ethernet network solutions for the Service Provider, data centre and on-line business community, today announced the signing of a framework agreement for Geo to provide NWIX with a national network ring between Manchester and London.
NWIX provides high-availability networking for businesses across the UK. Solutions are based on a national and European network infrastructure of interconnecting data centres that provide a platform on which systems integrators, services providers and corporate businesses can build their own services.
The partnership with Geo will extend NWIX’s backbone and provide them with 1000km of dedicated optical fibre and co-location services across Geo’s national network. This phase of expansion will extend NWIX’s network in the West Midlands into to some of the UK’s major cities including, Bristol, Nottingham, Milton Keynes, Newbury, Doncaster, Tewkesbury and Wolverhampton.
“We chose Geo because of their quality G.655 fibre national fibre infrastructure which is highly secure, offers leading services levels, and enables us to service our customers much more effectively," commented Nick Whittaker, CTO, NWIX.
Chris Smedley, Chief Executive, Geo added, “Working with Geo will allow NWIX to extend their already well established network and will provide them with a fully resilient diverse route down to London, enabling them to further enhance their service offering to their customers.”
