Geo were delighted to sponsor the NextGen 10 conference

We joined over 200 delegates at this year’s NextGen 10 conference in Birmingham and would like to thank both the organisers – INCA and all of the delegates and speakers for contributing to the success of the event. We had the opportunity to engage in valuable discussions with many of the delegates on the topics of making open access infrastructure networks a success and improving network connectivity throughout the UK.

The conference

Over 200 delgates from both the private and public sector convened in Birmingham to hear from industry experts and peers including Ed Vaizey MP, Digital Birmingham, Draka and Geo’s own Chris Smedley. Delegates benefited from interactive sessions over the two days with a focus on Big Society Broadband and models for achieving the UK’s digital inclusion targets.

Geo at NextGen 10

Both Geo Chief Executive, Chris Smedley and Sales and Business Development Director, Annette Murphy were invited to speak at the conference. The two sessions: Making a success of Open Access Networks and Infrastructure Sharing and Funding Models – Private, Public and Community Schemes; were very well attended and questions from the floor demonstrated just how topical the themes were.

Both sets of slides can be downloaded on the right.

Following on from Geo’s session: Making a success of Open Access Networks and Infrastructure Sharing, we have issued a briefing paper on duct and pole access. The paper and the related media statement can be viewed by clicking on the links on the right.
