Geo named top three telco provider in Deloitte Technology Fast 50

Geo has been named the third fastest growing telecommunications and network provider according to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards. Geo’s high ranking is a result of a 1255% revenue increase for the London based dedicated fibre-optic network provider.

Geo has had a very active five years including a significant expansion of its network into the Chiswick Media Park earlier this year, resulting in an active push into the media sector, as well as its push with the Manchester Digital Development Agency to deliver high-speed broadband to regional homes and businesses.

Chris Smedley, Chief Executive at Geo, said, “We are all thrilled to achieve such a high place within the Deloitte Technology Fast 50. Our high ranking on this list is recognition of our consistent success and stability even in the most challenging of market conditions. This sustained and rapid growth is due, in no small part, to the great team we have working in all areas of the company.”

Geo’s ambition to provide Britain with fast, reliable and secure fibre-optic networks is the driving force behind successes with the likes of TalkTalk, Globecast and The Welsh Assembly Government. The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 rank is testament to the success of this ethos.

“We now carry 30% of the UK’s internet traffic and are well into our fifth year without a fibre cut. It’s this stability and reliability that enabled us to win high profile customers, continue to grow, and push into the overall Top 20 of this prestigious table,” concluded Smedley.

The Winners’ Award Ceremony is on 25 November 2010. The full list of winners can be found here.
