What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a type of news feed which notifies you when new content is added or updated to a site of your choice.
To read RSS content you will need a piece of software called an 'RSS reader' or an 'aggregator'. The reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloading any updates that it finds.
There are different types of RSS readers:
- Browser-based - which let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer
- Downloadable applications - which let you store feeds on your main computer
